THE BIRTH PHOTOGRAPHER + DOULA
Peace, I’m Michon
A millennial wife and mama to three wild little boys, all of whom at 18 months apart. Birthing them has helped me realize my own strength. Through my own birth experiences, I came to realize how the details of labor can easily blur together. While the mother and her birth team are often focused on being present and fully in the flow, it can become difficult to document everything. With all three of my births, I found myself wishing I had those moments captured. I hold onto what I can remember, while my husband and doula have helped to fill in the rest.
As a birth photographer, I get to help other women hold onto those powerful, transforming moments. I turn the raw beauty of birth into photographs. The laboring mother gets to see herself from my point of view: the rawness, unfiltered beauty, and the unscripted parts of labor. This vision, mixed with my ability to express creatively, and my passion for pregnancy and birth is how I founded Wildflower Birth Photography.

Birth moves fast
In the grand scheme of things, labor and birth can move fast. One minute you’re in “labor land,” doing the hardest, most powerful thing you’ve ever done, then suddenly, it’s over.
In the days that follow, you’re learning your baby, learning your body again, and moving through a kind of fog that comes with new motherhood.
Birth photography gives you something to come back to. It holds the moments you might not remember clearly. So one day, when you look back, you don’t just see what happened, you remember how it felt.

I'M A MAMA MYSELF. I get it. I understand the chaos. In fact, I've birthed three babies, each a year and a half apart. I know what it's like to have the morning sickness, the nesting phase, feeling ring of fire, cluster feedings, and having a house full of noise. Trust me, I get it.

I HAVE AN EYE FOR DETAIL. I am a very observant person. I notice the moments others often miss. I know how to frame a shot in a way that feels real, not posed.

I HAVE EDUCATED MYSELF ON BIRTH. I had to. I understand the natural flow of labor and how to move within the space without disrupting that process.
I CAN BE TRUSTED. Birth is sacred and I don't take lightly the honor of being invited into any birth space. I move with respect and discretion. I honor each mother's wishes and move with integrity.
